I am sitting in bed listening to Riley over the monitor. He keeps saying, "I have a dream." He did this one day while we were walking in the halls at Duke and the nurses really got a kick out of it. I wish he would have a dream - one while he is sleeping.... that was last night - unfortunately, I had to interrupt my post and fix Riley a variety of foods up until 11:30pm last night and didn't get to finish. Now it is Thursday around 10am and he is STILL asleep. He started saying he was hungry last night and for at least an hour, I tried to accommodate his various cravings. I tried to start simple with some crackers, anything that didn't have to be cooked, but Riley wasn't going to have any of that. He started asking for chicken nuggets, which we didn't have, so I tried warming up some grilled chicken strips and passing them off for chicken nuggets. I took a few bites and thought it was potatoes and said, "This is not what I want." From there, I tried chips, pizza and a few other things and finally, he said, "I need to take a nap." I was able to get him to sleep without wearing his tennis shoes for the first night awhile.

Today Riley has a visit with his home health nurse, then I am taking him to Hickory Valley Christian School to see his teachers from last year, Mrs. Shepard and Mrs. Aytes. He is constantly asking to go to school, so I thought maybe it would help just to go to his old classroom, even if he can't be around his classmates. I guess we will see. Late yesterday afternoon. Riley began asking, "Where is my visitor? When will I get a visitor." It broke my heart! So today we are going to visiting!
